Follow your passion

Are you ready to lead the next chapter of educational excellence? At Zeta, we pursue an unprecedented combination of high academic achievement and social-emotional development for our students. We insist that every student receives a world-class education while fostering a love for learning. We are passionate about changing the landscape of public education in New York City and beyond, and we are uncompromising in our mission.

We’re thrilled to launch our first-ever Zeta High School class of 9th graders in the 2026-27 school year, located at 1080 St. Nicholas Avenue in Upper Manhattan. This exciting milestone marks the next chapter in our mission to provide world-class education from pre-kindergarten through high school. We currently operate multiple elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, and plan to open 1–2 new schools each year – because children in every community deserve excellent, equitable education. Join our growing team today and be a change agent for children.

Deliver powerful results

To achieve our vision, we are seeking a Founding High School Athletics Coach with a Bachelor’s degree, 3–5+ years of coaching or teaching experience, and a passion for developing students through athletics. In this role, you will primarily coach Soccer and Basketball, with opportunities for programming to evolve as Zeta adds one grade level to the High School model each year.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute a compelling vision for high school athletics in Soccer and Basketball, designing rigorous, competitive training programs that develop technical mastery, strategic thinking, physical conditioning, and mental toughness.
Establish a strong, values-driven team culture that emphasizes accountability, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship—preparing student-athletes to compete at a high level and represent Zeta with pride.
Prepare student-athletes for high school competition, including game strategy, film study, performance analysis, and readiness for league play, tournaments, and postseason opportunities.
  • Use performance data, game metrics, and player feedback to evaluate progress, individualize development plans, and drive continuous improvement across teams and seasons.
  • Develop meaningful, high-trust relationships with student-athletes and families to support physical development, social-emotional growth, leadership skills, and long-term goal setting.
  • Collaborate closely with academic and school leadership teams to ensure student-athletes are successful in the classroom and athletics are aligned with Zeta’s broader college- and career-ready vision.
  • Contribute as a founding teacher to build systems, routines, and traditions that will define the future of Zeta High School athletics.
  • Lead competitive after-school Soccer and Basketball programs, including practices, games, tournaments, and off-season

Model and instill high standards of professionalism, including punctuality, preparation, communication, and personal responsibility, mirroring expectations of collegiate and elite athletic environments.
