ABOUT THE POSITION:
Urban Dove Team Charters is on the lookout for an Assistant in Student Recruitment to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our efforts to attract and enroll prospective students into our charter schools. The successful candidate will be actively involved in implementing innovative recruitment strategies, conducting outreach through various channels, and representing Urban Dove at numerous events.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Central Office is the non-profit entity that manages the Urban Dove Charter Schools. The CMO provides a wide range of services–including back office functions, accounting, hiring, professional development, data analysis, public relations, advocacy, and more. The CMO is also responsible for providing support structures for the schools and ensuring proper replication of the model as the organization expands.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in implementing recruitment strategies to attract prospective students.
- Conduct outreach activities through various channels, including social media, to attract and engage prospective students.
- Represent the Urban Dove at recruitment fairs, community events, and school visits.
- Canvas neighborhoods and locations where youth frequently visit
- Guide potential students through the application process, providing information on program offerings and admission requirements.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining application materials.
- Schedule intake interviews
- Support the planning and execution of recruitment events such as open houses, information sessions, and campus tours.
- Maintain regular communication with prospective students and schools through emails and phone calls, addressing inquiries promptly.
- Provide accurate information to assist applicants in making informed decisions.
- Request transcripts as needed from guidance counselors and send to appropriate schools
- Update and maintain the student recruitment database with accurate information.
- Generate reports on recruitment activities and outcomes.
- Work closely with the admissions team, staff, and stakeholders to ensure a streamlined recruitment process.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
- High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in student recruitment, admissions, customer service, or related fields is advantageous.
- Experience working in a high school setting preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively communicating with prospective students, parents, school counselors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate information clearly and professionally is important.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships with prospective students and their families, as well as collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to establish rapport, listen actively, and empathize with others is valuable.
- A customer service mindset and a commitment to providing exceptional service to prospective students and their families are important qualities for a Student Recruitment Assistant.
- Being responsive, approachable, and courteous is key to fostering positive relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are essential for managing multiple tasks, coordinating events, and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficiency in using computer applications and technology tools, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suites, email, databases.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing techniques may also be beneficial.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to group projects and initiatives is important. Student Recruitment Assistants often collaborate with admissions counselors, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to achieve recruitment goals.Attention to detail is crucial for accurately processing applications, maintaining records, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with institutional policies and procedures.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle unexpected challenges, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is valuable in student recruitment roles.
