ROLE TITLE: Director, Partnerships

POSITION REPORTS TO: Executive Director, DFW (Bibi Yasmin Katsev)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are looking for an exceptional connector and relationship builder to support the DFW region to pursue our 2030 goal by stewarding and maintaining strategic school, non-profit, and community partnerships in collaboration with the Executive Director, DFW. The ideal candidate loves managing large projects, working with people, and executing. You are a strong networking strategist with a deep commitment to our community, partners, and network. You take personal responsibility for the success of your work -- whether it requires creating a strategy, setting up others to execute effectively, or managing back-end processes in pursuit of your goals. You persevere when faced with obstacles, adjust course & pull learnings along the way. The aim of this role is to support your ED, SMD, Partnerships, and the constellation of centralized & locally rooted staff who are working in alignment toward our 2030 aims. You will develop systems to track progress towards our overall vision while ensuring strong communication and engagement with each of our local partners, who are necessary to deliver TFA’s core functions in Dallas/Fort Worth.

This is a part-time (60%) role that will be expected to work approximately 24 hours per week.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Partner School & District Strategy <50%>

  • Support SMD, Partnerships in managing district HR relationships in Fort Worth/Tarrant County to strategically place CMs in alignment with conditions that we have seen drive success (vision-aligned principals, clustering) in alignment with the 2030 goal
  • Deepen partnerships with district officials to ensure TFA is considered a premier partner for teacher, school leader, and systems-level leader talent
  • Support strategy for ICM hiring, and manage execution
  • Support hiring and managing of temporary staff that will support the data systems needed for hiring the incoming corps
  • Support in-service corps member retention by strengthening principal/campus partnerships
  • Work with the TX Alumni team to source & connect potential talent

Support Teacher Certification (30%)

  • Manage teacher certification completion
    • Collaborate with the Director, Certification and Licensure to support corps member completion of certification requirements during the school year
    • Alongside the SMD, Partnerships, partner with Teach For America DFW’s designated Educator Preparation Program/Alternative Certification Programs to increase the number of certified corps members completing their programs
    • Conduct regular check-ins with corps members who are not yet on an intern certificate to hold them accountable to completing their certification expectation

Recruitment & Community Partnerships <10%>

  • Support of regional recruitment vision in collaboration with the recruitment team at key Fort Worth/Tarrant County university and community partners
  • Create and/or support local opportunities for the national recruitment team to incorporate into their efforts

Ongoing Regional Responsibilities <10%>

  • Participate in corps members and alumni activities across the continuum, including but not limited to corps member selection or matriculation, alumni campaigns, and ongoing AmeriCorps data collection and tracking etc.
  • Serve as an “all-hands-on-deck” team member willing to support regions in various ways as needs and opportunities arise, which embodies the spirit of the TFA Texas team.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, the D, Partnerships will spend time:

  • Participating in regularly scheduled meetings with the ED and SMD, Partnerships to align on upcoming events, progress to goals, and determine any necessary shifts in capacity
  • Scheduling and conducting 1:1 meetings with: school districts, charter school partners, and university partners
  • Traveling to school partners to understand the impact they are having, and ways TFA might add value to their work
  • Telling the story of network impact and progress towards our 2030 goal through our state-wide development, alumni & program supports

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • At least 4 years of work experience demonstrating progressively greater responsibility and success in setting and achieving ambitious goals
  • 2+ years of experience building community with a diverse group of internal and external constituents to achieve results or create opportunities
  • Expertise in navigating senior-level relationships with traditional ISD and CMO partners
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence that enable relationships to achieve concrete goals
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Strong strategy development and project management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to speak to and model our core values and commitment to the communities we serve

BONUS (preferred qualifications)

  • Teach For America corps and staff experience strongly preferred
  • Strong existing knowledge of Teach For America’s current strategic direction and the education landscape in North Texas and Fort Worth/Tarrant County
  • Understanding of the local education system, specifically how schools and districts operate and their structure
  • Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening work hours required
  • Prior school leadership or district central staff experience preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred

In 1991, we began our work in Texas with 200 first-year teachers; today, our network has grown to nearly 4,750 leaders, with over 2,600 leading in the K-12 system.

As part of Team Texas, you will work alongside about 40 other colleagues who are working to expand opportunities for children in Texas, especially in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio.

YOUR COMPENSATION

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Please note: As this is a 60% (part-time) role, the actual salary offered will be 60% of the posted full-time range.
