The high level:
This is an exciting and dynamic role in the AmeriCorps department at Reading Partners. The main focus of the role is to generate enough applications to fill all awarded AmeriCorps slots (250+) on an annual basis. To do this, you’ll provide excellent customer service and maintain ongoing quality relationships with regional AmeriCorps points to reach our collective goal of recruiting 250+ AmeriCorps members. Additionally, you will support the growth and development of college campuses and community-based partnerships for all regions. As a recruitment manager, you will provide direct support to three time zones. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of National Service, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate and knowledgeable about partnership development and recruitment.
(National Roles) Location: This position is remote but requires candidates to reside within one of Reading Partners’ markets. Reading Partners markets include Baltimore, MD, Charleston, SC, Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, North Texas (Dallas and Fort Worth), San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Twin Cities, MN, Tulsa, OK, and Washington, D.C.
What you’ll do:
Annually recruit a diverse cohort of 250+ AmeriCorps for 8 regions. Assess and innovate on Reading Partners’ recruitment strategy.
- Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan that outlines goals, benchmarks, and tactics that will enhance recruitment efforts for all AmeriCorps Member slots.
- Engage over 2,000 leads through targeted customer-focused communication and generate over 2,400 applications per year (or maintain, at a minimum, a 6:1 application-to-member ratio).
- Create & manage all AmeriCorps postings on all platforms and manage the national recruitment budget. You’ll own an average of 20 postings per week.
- Work closely with regions/departments to determine localized recruitment strategies and national support.
- Work closely with the AC National Admissions and Operations Manager to track, report, and share relevant recruitment data to improve regional admissions efforts and the candidate experience.
- Lead on monthly/bi-monthly regional recruitment meetings to discuss applicant numbers and quality, assess strategies in place, and pivot/revise plan if necessary.
Lead the development and implementation of a plan to raise public awareness for the Reading Partners’ AmeriCorps program through various media channels.
- Identify media outlets (blogs, radio/podcasts, news outlets, etc.) targeting nuanced audiences.
- Write and submit 1 to 2 external blog posts, articles, and other media to various outlets per month.
- Attend virtual career fair(s), representing the Reading Partners’ AmeriCorps team. Identify events in local regions and identify local staff/RP alumni who may attend on Reading Partners’ behalf.
- Identify areas of overlap and potential collaboration with National Community Engagement to leverage volunteer recruitment with AmeriCorps member recruitment.
- Partner with the Marketing & Communications Department on AmeriCorps collateral development, distribution, and social media to amplify the message of RP’s AmeriCorps program.
- Partner with regional staff to identify opportunities for key national and local recruitment partnerships, respectively, and steward current partnerships to ensure recommitment.
- Build and cultivate strategic relationships to grow the applicant base that reflects Reading Partners’ student population.
- Build upon relationships with current national partnerships and add 1-2 additional partnerships per year.
- Build and maintain a system for tracking national and regional partnerships, develop metrics for successful partnerships, and review/revise on an annual basis.
- Enhance regional recruitment knowledge base and continue to grow regional recruitment expertise.
- Develop and update annually, all recruitment-related resources for regional teams, including the AmeriCorps Recruitment Toolkit
- Work in partnership with the National Admissions and Operations Manager to assess regional training needs; develop and facilitate bi-monthly training for staff

Ability to set up successful systems for communication and messaging, tailor communication to audiences, and break down complex topics for a variety of audiences. High competency with written communication.

Reading Partners’ compensation and benefits programs are designed to attract, motivate, engage, and retain top talent to propel our mission forward. We aim to set salaries based on objective, external, high-quality market data. Our salaries are adjusted for candidates in different geographic regions. We do our very best to ensure that we’re bringing our best offer - therefore we do not engage in salary negotiations.
- This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. The pay range for this position is between $71,353 - $83,945 annually and is contingent on geographic location. After applying, candidates who move forward in the hiring process are provided with the salary for their geographical location.
- We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flex spending accounts, generous paid time off, commuter benefits, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and currently a 403(b) match option.
- Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits for regular employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week. In addition to paid holidays, we close our offices for one week in early July and one week in late December.

- This role is a remote-based role. The person in this role must work in a state where Reading Partners operates.
- Travel: Occasional trips to offices, school sites, AmeriCorps, or state commission-sponsored meetings or National Days of Service events in other states may be required, including overnight stays.

Qualifications
About You!
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
- Have 2-4 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
- Have experience working with or administering an AmeriCorps program
- Have experience in developing and facilitating training
- Possess superior written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong stakeholder/relationships management skills
- Are highly organized and detailed-oriented
- Work efficiently and quickly to meet deadlines despite interruptions
- Have a working knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Are flexible and can manage ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment
- Are highly adept at handling a large volume and a broad variety of written communication, including large volumes of daily emails from teammates and stakeholders

- Ability to prove eligibility to work legally in the U.S.
