WHAT YOU’LL DO:

MGT Consulting Group is seeking a Director to lead Executive Recruitment and related core services, while managing and developing a team of consultants. By applying deep subject matter expertise, the Director will engage with clients on executive recruitments and enhance our existing service offerings to explore opportunities for market growth within the practice group. The ideal candidate is an innovative Human Capital Expert and deeply cares about social impact work in the public sector.

In this role you will:

  • Assist the practice leader in managing the Executive Recruitment team and related responsibilities such as supervision and performance review of team members, participation in growth strategy discussions, working with the Director of Operations on accounts receivables and client invoicing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for Executive Recruitment, including leading highly visible and complex executive searches, candidate engagement and negotiations.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, initiate client contacts, and conduct presentations.
  • Communicate and counsel regularly with clients regarding executive recruitment, hiring and human resources practices.
  • Ensures contract compliance through project monitoring and quality assurance checks of deliverables.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed on trends, challenges, and opportunities within public recruitment sector.
  • Actively participate in the creation of new business proposals and presentations.
  • Consult with other agencies to obtain the benefit of their knowledge and experience in subject areas.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of best practices and on the latest human resources and hiring legislation and regulations.
  • Attend conferences and speak at conferences, events, and webinars as requested. Prepare materials for speaking engagements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Ten (10) or more years of professional experience in industry.
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or other Human Resources Professional certifications.
    • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations governing position classification, salary administration, and general employment standards.
    • Knowledge of compensation programs, processes, policy, union contracts, performance evaluation systems, and benefits reviews.
    • Experience managing a matrixed team of individuals with varying skill sets.
    • Strong leadership skills, including people development, team building, and conflict management.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex situations and propose recommendations.
    • Skill in developing policy and procedure documentation and report writing.
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Teams and other video conferencing platforms.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
    • Ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of multiple, concurrent projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Experience working and building relationships with client executives and with external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work extended periods of time at a computer.
    • Ability to travel depending on the sales cycle and client needs.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree or higher.
    • Knowledge of operations, positions, and policies within, but not limited to, local/state government, public higher education, and/or PK12 public education.
    • Experience with Project Management software.
    • Experience in consulting and/or executive recruitment.
