Job Summary:
KIPP Atlanta Schools seeks an experienced Clinic Aide who will be responsible for providing health services support to a single school. Reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, the Clinic Aide will serve the health needs of our students and staff, provide health-related tasks, including first aid and medication administration as needed, maintain student health records, and help ensure that the school complies with any state or district health-related requirements.

- Provides basic first aid and care for minor injuries and illness and chronic health conditions according to a detailed protocol established by the Regional School Nurse (RSN) or the Child’s ;
- Takes vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration rate, pulse ox, and blood pressure);
- Communicates findings to supervising RSN for direction;
- Contacts parents of students who need to be picked up from school according to established school health services protocols or as directed by the RSN;
- Contacts EMS according to established school health services protocols or as directed by the RSN;
- Maintains records (sorting, filing, reviewing for completeness);
- Assists with screening programs;
- Sends routine notices to parents; and
- Orders and maintain health office supplies;
- Serve as a Trained Diabetes Personnel after receiving appropriate training.
- Coordinated COVID-19 response for the school
- Other duties as delegated by the Regional School Nurse in accordance with the Georgia Nurse Practice Act (Board of Registered Nurses)

- Helps ensure school compliance with federal, state and local school district guidelines and requirements
- Ensures timeliness, accuracy and thoroughness of medical documentation including monitoring of immunizations
| Telehealth |
|
- Provides pediatric TeleHealth consultation triage with use of technology (i.e. mobile device, peripheral devices, and telephone). Obtains vital signs and chief complaint for RN consultation.
- Provides guidance and support during the TeleHealth encounter to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Responsible for equipment functioning. Notifies RN supervisor of any equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications
Candidate Qualifications
- Previous experience in health care - certified by the state as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) is preferred
- Formal first aid training through the Red Cross or a similar program, or may have gone through a campus or district specific orientation and training related to school health such as medication administration, or specific health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and follow-through
- Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and ability to prioritize
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
- Excellent customer service; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional work ethic; very reliable and responsible
- Flexible, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Professional, friendly, and adaptable personality; strong ability to provide high quality services to a wide variety of students (e.g. age, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic)
- Committed to the mission of preparing educationally underserved children for excellent high schools and colleges
Compensation
Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A competitive benefits package will also be offered.
