KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, we will educate nearly 2,500 students and hundreds of alumni. Today, our St. Louis network consists of two middle schools, three elementary schools, and a high school.

Job Description

Position Overview: HR/Talent Intern Position

Start Date: October 2025 | End Date: June or July 2026

  • Timeline: October to June or July (depending on availability)

  • Approximately 8 months total

Work Schedule: 15-20 minimum hours a week (mornings, some evenings, and some weekend availability (to work recruitment events)

  • Team members and future team members are our main customers in this role. This role ensures that all team members are engaged, feel connected to our One KIPP community, and receive the support of resources they need to do their role well.

  • Having culture-building activities, a healthy social media presence, and intentional staff events pushes our ability to provide a joyful work environment and fully advertise all the greatness that lies within KIPP Saint Louis

  • Engaging the community is key to building a strong employer brand and footprint as a school district of choice

HR/Talent Intern Responsibilities

  • Attend Talent Ambassador meetings

  • Attend KIPP St. Louis recruitment events when appropriate

  • Manage the candidate process through Smart Recruiters and outreach to cultivations and staff

  • External/Internal Recruitment Tactics

  • Update our Social Media Posts

  • Recruitment Campaign Project

  • Recruitment Event Planning

  • Referral Outreach

  • Regional Application Processing

  • Marketing Materials Update

  • HR support

Coaching and Development

  • Weekly team meeting with the Director of HR/Talent for thought partnerships and support

  • Training by talent recruitment manager connected to recruitment and retention efforts

  • Process new applications that have been collected through the external recruitment efforts

  • Engage with community partners for advertising and marketing opportunities

  • Support organization and systems building within our HR department

Qualifications

  1. Internships are focused for collegiate level work experience building
  2. Enrolled in univeristy or college
  3. Interest in making a difference for marginalized children
