Director, Engagement (Northeast)
Instruction Partners
This is a full-time, remote position anywhere on the East Coast in the contiguous United States, with national travel expected up to 50%.
What You’ll Do
As the Director of Engagement, you will expand Instruction Partners’ impact by developing and managing early stage partnerships with school systems, especially small and medium-sized districts and charters on the East Coast. You’ll help education leaders address their most pressing instructional challenges by identifying needs, building authentic relationships, and connecting them to effective solutions. This role leads partner development and account management, including setting a regional growth strategy, cultivating key relationships, understanding local contexts, and securing new partnerships and revenue. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure strong, aligned support and impactful growth strategies. We’re looking for someone who combines instructional expertise with a passion for relationship-building and a drive to help leaders improve teaching and learning at scale.
Responsibilities:
Partnership Development & Relationship Management
- Establishes and maintains deep, trusting relationships with senior school, system, and nonprofit leaders, grounded in solving instructional challenges
- Cultivates and activates networks across systems, nonprofits, and connector relationships to generate new connections and partnership opportunities
- Maintains consistent, values-driven engagement with partners, demonstrating results-oriented execution and modeling Instruction Partners’ core values in every interaction
- Designs and implements a regional recruitment strategy to expand Instruction Partners’ network on the East Coast, aligning outreach efforts with long-term organizational vision and impact goals
- Collaborates closely with the marketing team to execute a regional engagement strategy, including events, conferences, and targeted outreach, ensuring clear, consistent, and values-driven messaging that resonates with partners and prospects
- Develops and maintains expertise in Instruction Partners’ services and learning initiatives, connecting them to common instructional and leadership challenges
- Collaborates with delivery team members to maintain a shared understanding of Instruction Partners’ approach, history, and ongoing work with current and former partners
- Supports partners in diagnosing instructional challenges, aligning leadership priorities, and organizing teams for sustained improvement
- Manages inbound leads and partnership data through Salesforce, analyzing insights to inform actionable strategies that drive partner engagement and growth
- Anticipates and responds to shifts in context across school systems, regional service centers, and state education departments, adjusting engagement strategies proactively and thoughtfully
Candidate Qualifications and Traits:
- 8+ years of experience as a school or systems leader in K-12 (e.g., instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, etc.)
- Instructional Systems & Leadership Insight: Ability to analyze instructional systems and leadership challenges, identify patterns in school- and system-level barriers, and navigate complex educational structures to connect leaders with the right supports
- Education Policy & Regional Context Awareness: Ability to apply expert knowledge of education policy, funding, and regional/state dynamics to anticipate partner needs and provide informed guidance across East Coast priority states
- Strategic Relationship Management: Ability to build and sustain trust with diverse stakeholders, including senior education leaders and internal teams, through active listening, collaborative problem-solving, and cross-functional alignment
- Business Development and Network Expansion: Ability to cultivate and expand networks, leverage data-informed strategies to identify high-potential connections, and convert them into long-term partnerships
- Collaborative Marketing and Growth Strategy: Ability to translate local insights into actionable outreach and engagement strategies, co-design regional growth initiatives, and achieve revenue and partner recruitment goals
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Organizational Learning: Ability to integrate knowledge of services and learning initiatives to align engagement with delivery priorities, participate in feedback loops, and contribute to organizational learning and improvement
Preferred Qualifications and Traits:
- Experience in K-12 consulting with business development expectations
- Proficiency using Salesforce

Compensation:
