Harlem Children's Zone
Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Program Aide to support our College Success Office (CSO).
The Program Aide will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
The College Success Office and Career Support (CSO) provides year-round academic, administrative, and emotional support, as well as financial and career preparation, to participants of HCZ’s Promise Academy high schools and afterschool programs. The individual will be an enthusiastic, reliable team player who contributes every ounce of their energy, creativity, and love so that our kids have an incredible after-school program this year. Previous experience working with children or youth in an educational, extracurricular, or after-school program is preferred but not required.

- High School Diploma or GED (bachelor’s preferred)
- 1-2+ years of experience working in administrative support
Who You Are
- A commitment to the mission and programs of HCZ
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, Coupa, Salesforce
- Attention to detail and deadlines is imperative.
- Comfortable working in various urban settings and with diverse populations
- Some experience working with students and/or at-risk youth preferred
What You’ll Do
- Perform general administrative duties, including but not limited to preparing documents, photocopying, emailing, mailing, and filing
- Provide administrative support to CSO leadership and the Data team
- CSO Front Desk Reception: Greet and welcome staff, scholars, caregivers, and visitors
- CSO Administrative liaison (front desk support, upkeep of supplies, processing vendor payments)
- Run errands - daily pick-up
- Perform other duties as assigned
Schedule
- On-Site: Monday-Friday 20-25 hrs. per week
- The weekly schedule is flexible (Examples: 9 AM - 2 PM, 10 AM - 2 PM, 11 AM - 4 PM)
