Remote Executive Assistant (Part-Time)

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional Remote Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to the CEO of a leading charter school based in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will be proactive, communicative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
This role is part-time and ideal for individuals with strong executive support experience who are looking to contribute to a meaningful educational mission on a flexible schedule.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Executive Assistant will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Calendar & Scheduling
- Manage the CEO’s dynamic calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings.
- Coordinate and align schedules across leadership teams, ensuring seamless integration of priorities and availability.
- Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts proactively.
- Communication & Correspondence
- Draft, edit, and format memos, emails, and other internal communications on behalf of the CEO.
- Ensure timely and clear dissemination of information to leadership and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
- Administrative Coordination
- Organize virtual meetings, including preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking follow-up items.
- Support cross-departmental coordination and communication as directed by the CEO.
- Assist with tracking key deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting C-level executives or senior leadership, preferably in education or nonprofit sectors.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Strong writing and editing skills; able to draft professional correspondence with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Meet) and Zoom.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks across multiple time zones, though availability during Eastern Time business hours is essential.
- Familiarity with the charter school or K-12 education sector.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and departments.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- This is a part-time, hourly contract position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience ranging from $17-$20 per hour. We anticipate this role will be needed for a minimum of 6-12 months.
