About Generation Hope

Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure all student parents have the opportunities to succeed and experience economic mobility by engaging education and policy partners to drive systemic change and providing direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming. To date, we have provided over $1.5 million in tuition assistance, supported almost 500 teen parents in college, celebrated more than 270 degrees earned through our program, and built relationships with 30+ two and four-year institutions nationwide. Position Summary

Generation Hope seeks a visionary Chief Architect of our revenue engine. This senior executive role bridges sophisticated long-term strategy with our mission to ensure economic mobility for student parents. You will lead the advancement strategy for a $9M+ organizational budget, focusing on diversifying funding, elevating our brand, and building long-term institutional relationships.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Revenue Architecture: Design & Execute a multi-year, data-driven roadmap to diversify revenue across individual, corporate, foundation, and government sectors.
  • Institutional & Endowment Strategy: Provide high-level oversight for $1M+ multi-year solicitations and establish formal endowment and legacy giving programs.
  • Executive & Board Partnership: Partner with the National Board to foster a culture of philanthropy and collaborate with the C-Suite to integrate advancement into broader growth strategies.
  • CEO Engagement: Strategically prepare the CEO for high-capacity donor interactions, defining specific objectives, messaging, and solicitation goals.
  • Brand Narrative: Serve as "Chief Storyteller" and brand guardian, ensuring all communications position Generation Hope for national thought leadership.
  • External Representation: Act as an ambassador in high-level funding spaces, cultivating relationships with national partners and stakeholders.
  • Partnership & Scalability-Focused: Scalable Event Revenue Roadmap: Define a data-driven strategic roadmap for conferences to maximize revenue generation from attendance, multi-year sponsorships, and specialized fundraising events. You will oversee the integration of communications strategies to drive marketing outcomes while focusing on building long-term institutional relationships and identifying scalable opportunities for corporate and government investment within the conference framework.
  • Operational Rigor: Lead the team to foster a culture of operational rigor, ensuring that the internal fundraising infrastructure is as resilient and professional as the organization's external programming. VP will have strategic oversight of Communications, Events, and Development Teams.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience & Education

  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership in nonprofit advancement with a track record of securing significant revenue growth.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, or Nonprofit Management preferred); Master’s and/or CFRE strongly encouraged.
  • Sector Expertise: Deep knowledge of the nonprofit landscape, specifically education and family-support models.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Work Environment

Normal office environment. Some work will take place off-site during special events.

Travel

This position may require occasional regular overnight travel for activities in and out of the DC region. Must be able to travel (via plane, train, or car) to attend trainings, conferences, project sites, and related activities.
