The Role

EO Ventures is seeking a Chief of Staff to support its Founding Partner. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Founding Partner of a small, high-performing fund and gain a front-row seat into venture capital. You'll play a central role in amplifying his time and focus, while ensuring the fund's operations, communications, and stakeholder engagement run smoothly and strategically.

The Chief of Staff will manage key initiatives, streamline internal systems, and strengthen relationships with founders, LPs, and ecosystem partners. The role demands intellectual agility, sound judgment, and the ability to make sense of complexity in a fast-moving environment. Ideal candidates will be intellectually agile, resourceful, and proactive—ready to translate big ideas into thoughtful execution

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Strategic & Executive Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and right hand to the Founding Partner—helping manage priorities, time, and follow-through.
  • Project-manage fundraising, LP communications, portfolio support, and ecosystem-building initiatives.
  • Draft and refine presentations, investment memos, internal docs, and external-facing materials.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage fund workflows and cadence, including team meetings, quarterly reviews, and portfolio check-ins.
  • Build and maintain systems for deal flow tracking,CRM, and investor reporting.
  • Coordinate with legal, accounting, and fund admin partners to ensure smooth operations.

Portfolio & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Support the Founding Partner in providing strategic value to portfolio companies - e.g., research, talent introductions, or materials.
  • Plan and execute fund events, founder dinners, and LP sessions.
  • Help grow EO Ventures’ presence within the Cambridge/Boston innovation ecosystem.

What They’re Looking For (Requirements)

  • 5+ years in a fast-paced, strategic role (e.g., founder, operator, consultant, or VC/PE experience).
  • A strong background in finance and data analytics is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes situations with discretion
  • A low-ego, can-do mindset; comfortable switching between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Deep curiosity about startups, venture capital investing, and enabling others to succeed.

Location

This role is based in Cambridge, MA. While some flexibility may be possible, there is a strong preference for candidates who are located in the Boston area or open to relocating. Regular in-person collaboration with the Founding Partner and team is an important part of this role.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000. EO Ventures offers comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Team members have access to health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions, generous paid time off, and support for ongoing professional growth.

EO Ventures is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Candidates of all backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply—even if not every qualification is met. If the mission resonates and the role excites you, EO Ventures would love to hear from you.
