About the Team

The Inside Sales K-12 team at College Board is a high-performing, mission-driven consultative sales team focused on expanding access to College Board programs and services. We combine sales expertise with a deep commitment to creating opportunities for students, partnering with educators, district leaders, and state officials to drive adoption of solutions that improve student outcomes.

As part of the State & District Partnerships division, we are responsible for growing the reach and impact of College Board programs, including the SAT Suite of Assessments and Advanced Placement. We take a strategic, data-informed approach to managing territories, building pipelines, and advancing opportunities from initial engagement through long-term partnership.

Our work is relationship-driven and results-oriented, with a clear focus on driving adoption and meeting ambitious growth goals across our territories. We engage in consultative sales cycles, align solutions to partner priorities, and support successful implementation to ensure sustained impact. Team members are accountable for meeting goals, continuously strengthening their sales practice, and contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning, and shared success.

About the Opportunity

As an Associate Director of K–12 Inside Sales, you are responsible for driving growth and achieving sales goals for College Board programs and services within an assigned territory. You lead the execution of state, regional, and national sales strategies, proactively identifying opportunities, advancing conversations, and closing opportunities that expand access to College Board programs.

You build and leverage strong relationships with key decision-makers at schools, districts, and education service centers to align solutions with their strategic priorities and student needs. Through consultative selling, strategic account management, and disciplined follow-through, you move partners from interest to commitment. Your ability to combine sales and product expertise, data-driven insights, and compelling communication ensures that leaders not only understand the value of our programs but also take action to implement them in service of their students.

In this role, you will:

Prospecting & Lead Follow-Up (40%)

  • Respond to incoming leads generated from the College Board web site and targeted campaigns

  • Provide necessary information and direction around how to offer SAT School Day, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 8/9, and AP programs internally and externally

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of new district opportunities through proactive outreach, including cold calling, emailing, and networking at relevant events

  • Utilize data-driven insights to target districts where College Board’s programs could have the greatest impact, focusing on increasing equity and access for students in rural and other underserved areas

  • Leverage existing partnerships with state educational agencies, non-profit organizations, and other key stakeholders that support rural districts by working collaboratively with regional SDP staff

Sales Outreach & Engagement (35%)

  • Conduct initial discovery meetings with district decision-makers to introduce College Board programs and assess potential fit.

  • Present compelling cases for the benefits of adopting the SAT Suite and expanding AP offerings, particularly around college readiness, student performance data, and scholarship opportunities.

  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, K12 Lead Development, sales team and subject matter experts to advance conversations with prospects and move them through the sales pipeline.

Relationship Building (20%)

  • Initiate and foster relationships with school district leaders, administrators, and educators to build trust and demonstrate the value of College Board products and services

  • Collaborate with district stakeholders to understand their specific challenges and goals and how the SAT Suite and AP Access Programs can address those needs

  • Provide insights into available state and federal grants, scholarships, and financial incentives that can support districts in adopting College Board programs

Reporting & CRM Management (5%)

  • Track all prospecting and sales activities in College Board’s CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring accurate records of all interactions, pipeline progression, and next steps

  • Provide regular updates on progress toward goals, challenges, and key learnings to the sales leadership team

About You

You have:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in education or a related field; direct experience in assessment, curriculum, student achievement, or program implementation initiatives highly desired

  • Possess a passion for education and deep commitment to the College Board’s mission of promoting educational equity, access, and excellence for students of all backgrounds

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills and the proven ability to move forward multiple projects in concert

  • A willingness and ability to think creatively, and proactively seek, take and use feedback to improve processes

  • A willingness to take initiative and be a self-starter

  • Achievement orientation, with evidence of setting and attaining goals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to action and a relationship-building approach that’s motivated by a strong, user-centric orientation

  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce or other similar CRM systems (preferred)

  • A willingness and ability to travel as needed for in-person meetings and onsite work, up to 10%- 20%

  • A bachelor’s degree

About Our Process
