The College Board is hiring a Portfolio Manager for our Latin America Office.

This position is a hybrid role based in our San Juan, Puerto Rico office.

About the Team

The Technology and Operations teams at the College Board Latin America Office collaborate closely to ensure the reliable delivery of assessments and services across the region. These teams manage digital platforms, testing systems, registration workflows, CRM systems, and operational processes that support students, institutions, and partners across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Technology develops and maintains the systems that power program delivery, while Assessment Operations manages the full lifecycle of assessment administration. Together, these teams ensure secure, efficient, and scalable delivery of College Board programs across the region.

The Portfolio Manager plays a central role in aligning, prioritizing, and coordinating initiatives across these teams, ensuring that resources are focused on the highest-impact work and that delivery is predictable, transparent, and aligned with institutional priorities.

About the Opportunity

As Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the full portfolio of Technology and Operations initiatives for the LATAM office. You will partner closely with the Executive Director of Operations and Technology and cross-functional leaders to prioritize work, manage dependencies, and ensure that projects are aligned with strategic goals and delivered effectively.

You will manage a portfolio that includes digital testing platforms, score reporting systems, CRM enhancements, and operational workflow improvements. Beyond execution, you will establish the structures and processes that enable consistent prioritization, visibility, and decision-making across initiatives.

This role requires strong project management expertise combined with the ability to operate at a higher level of coordination, balancing multiple initiatives, aligning stakeholders, and improving how work is planned and delivered across teams.

In this role, you will:

Portfolio Management and Prioritization (35%)

  • Own and manage the Technology and Operations project portfolio, ensuring alignment with LATAM strategic priorities.

  • Establish and maintain a centralized intake, prioritization, and sequencing process for new initiatives.

  • Work with leadership to evaluate trade-offs, dependencies, and resource allocation across projects.

  • Ensure the portfolio reflects the highest-impact work and supports digital transformation goals.

  • Maintain a comprehensive portfolio roadmap with clear timelines, ownership, and status visibility.

Project Oversight and Delivery (35%)

  • Oversee the execution of key cross-functional initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.

  • Support project leads and teams in developing plans, tracking progress, and mitigating risks.

  • Coordinate with engineering teams, operations staff, and vendors to ensure alignment and delivery.

  • Ensure new platforms and system enhancements are implemented with proper testing, documentation, and operational readiness.

  • Track portfolio-level risks and intervene where necessary to maintain delivery timelines.

Cross-Functional Alignment (30%)

  • Serve as the central coordination point across Technology, Assessment Operations, Research, Test Development, Market Development, and Finance.

  • Facilitate alignment on priorities, timelines, and dependencies across teams.

  • Ensure stakeholders have clear visibility into progress, risks, and key decisions.

  • Translate business needs into structured plans that can be executed by technical teams.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.

  • 5+ years of experience managing technology or operational projects, with experience overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives or portfolios preferred.

  • Strong experience working across cross-functional teams including technology, operations, and business stakeholders.

  • Proven experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies and modern project management tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, balance trade-offs, and maintain alignment across multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.

  • Experience with digital platforms, CRM systems, or enterprise system implementations is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with portfolio management practices, dashboards, and reporting tools is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally throughout Latin America and the United States (2-3 times per year or less)

All roles at College Board require:

  • A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work

  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and a comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively

  • Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal

  • A learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input

  • A drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarking
