About
City Year New York (CYNY) expands educational and economic opportunities for children and young adults. Each year, 18–25-year-old Student Success Coaches serve in systemically under-resourced NYC public schools as near-peer mentors, tutors, and community builders. Their service drives academic, social-emotional, and attendance gains for students, while also equipping corps members with professional skills to thrive in their careers and civic lives.
Since 2003, CYNY has placed 3,500+ Student Success Coaches in 133 schools, serving 200,000+ students. As we expand our work, we are committed to strengthening our career pathways programming so that every Student Success Coach completes their service year with clear next steps and access to long-term career opportunities.
