Position Overview

City Year Seattle / King County (CYSKC) seeks a dynamic, thoughtful, and collaborative Development Operations Manager who is committed to education equity. Reporting to the Senior Director, Major Gifts, this person will 1) maintain and enhance systems that support strong and community-centered fundraising practices, 2) provide process and operational support for fundraising events and 3) lead the execution of marketing and communications efforts that attract funding and build awareness and appreciation for City Year’s mission.

Minimum Qualifications
•BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
•Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America
•Criminal background history clearance to work with school-age children, depending on the position
Responsibilities

The Development Operations Manager will perform the following roles and responsibilities:

Event Planning & Execution
•Coordinate with external vendors and event partners on planning and execution, including COIs and permits
•Manage vendor contracts, invoices, and payments
•Lead event logistics and serve as primary point of contact for all stakeholders
•Oversee full planning and day-of execution for events such as Ripples of Hope
•Develop and manage run of show for all events
•Prepare, train, and support speakers in advance of events
•Develop and execute event promotion strategies across email, social media, and other channels
•Oversee creation and production of printed and digital event materials
•Build, manage, and maintain event pages on platforms such as Classy before, during, and after events
•Produce digital event programs and materials
•Recruit, train, and coordinate AmeriCorps members and event volunteers
•Set expectations and provide pre-event training for participants and volunteers

Communications
•Manage donor communications through Marketo
•Develop and distribute monthly development newsletter
•Maintain regular communication with donors and stakeholders
•Manage City Year Seattle/King County social media accounts with bi-weekly posting schedule
•Collaborate with Development and Impact teams on donor-focused content and campaigns
•Develop, design, and maintain City Year Seattle/King County materials, including informational documents and flyers that effectively communicate key messaging and align with branding standards

Operations
•Process all gifts, including checks within one week of receipt
•Prepare and send donor acknowledgment letters and new donor welcome packets
•Manage P-Card transactions and reconciliation
•Process and track all development-related invoices
•Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce, including campaign and list assignments

Civic Engagement
•Coordinate civic engagement initiatives in partnership with the Development team
•Develop and manage run of show for engagement events
•Serve as liaison with donors and partner organizations hosting projects
•Order, organize, and transport service supplies for events

Preferred Qualifications
•Excellent analytical skills along with strong problem-solving ability
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to people, process and efficiency
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, including content creation. Experience with graphic design and collateral creation a plus
Physical requirements
•Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk
•Manual dexterity for typing, writing, and handling office equipment
•Visual acuity to read screens and printed materials
•Hearing ability to participate in conversations and respond to phone calls
•Occasional lifting of items up to 10–20 lbs (e.g., event materials)

Working Conditions
•In Person/hybrid role with office in Georgetown
•Operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment
•Requires regular local travel to partner sites, schools, events, or meetings
•Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 am – 5 pm with occasional evening or weekend commitments
•Requires a valid driver’s license for travel as part of job duties.
•Must have reliable internet access for hybrid work
•Noise level generally moderate
