We are looking for a Data Analyst Apprentice to join our Cengage Group Data Strategy team on a 6-month temporary contract, to help deliver data-driven insights across a variety of business functions such as sales operations, GTM Strategy, Product Development, Digital Production, Inventory, Supply Chain, Finance etc. The Data Analyst will help drive reporting and maintain core processes and reporting that the Data Strategy team has developed. They will also be involved in operational planning of process automation efforts, improving data quality, engaging cross-functional teams to create/improve data visibility and analysis, deriving business outcomes from data, and providing analytic support across Operations.

What you’ll do here:

• Form an understanding of company processes, systems/tools, personnel, and strategic direction
• Create and maintain dynamic models and visuals
• Assist in consolidating, standardizing, and automating data workflows
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineers to define and provide synthesized outputs
• Capture and communicate findings within broader project structure; maintain healthy project management, coding, and workflow practices

Skills You Will Need Here:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Data Analytics (or equivalent experience)
• Basic understanding of data analysis and data mining tools (for example SQL, Python, PowerBI, Looker) and techniques working with Business Intelligence (BI) platforms to deliver reports.
• Collaborative problem-solving and working style to drive change through influence and robust communication.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
