Your Role as Manager of School DesignBGS's School Design practice builds the foundational architecture that enables schools to perform at the highest level. As a Manager of School Design, you work with school and system leaders to design, assess, and stress-test the core elements of a high-performing school: its mission and vision, academic model, program structure, staffing design, and student culture systems.This is a hybrid role with travel on-site to schools across the United States (concentrated in the New York City Metropolitan area). You work in close partnership with our Managing Partners to set the design strategy for each engagement, translate complex institutional goals into clear and operational school design artifacts, and ensure that every element of a school's design is coherent, ambitious, and feasible.Through our work, our school partners design the systems that make their vision a reality. Your deliverables are precise, sequenced, and built to last. You believe the difference between a good school and a great one often lives in the details of its design — and you treat those details as consequential.- You believe in building a legacy, measuring your own success by client success that sustains over years and decades.Your Qualifications for Manager, School Design- At least 5 years of experience in school leadership, instructional leadership, or school design, with demonstrated results.- Experience scaling a school model — you have built or helped build systems that transferred across campuses, grades, or cohorts.- A track record as a founder or early team member of a high-performing school or program, with evidence of excellent student outcomes.- Deep expertise in instructional leadership: you know what rigorous teaching looks like, how to design for it, and how to build the systems that sustain it.- A Bachelor’s degree or higher.Compensation for Manager, School Design- Salary range: $120,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience.- Successful team members may earn bonuses, based on performance.- As a fast-growing, mission-driven firm, we are committed to investing in our people.
